King’s College London – KCL

King’s College London (KCL) is one of the most prestigious universities in London and the world. In 2015, QS World University Rankings placed it at #16 in the world’s best universities list, at #6 in Europe’s list, and at #5 in the U.K.’s list.

Founded in 1829 by King George IV and Arthur Wellesley I, Duke of Wellington, KLC is the fourth oldest college in England. Along with Imperial University and London School of Economics, King’s College London founded the “Golden Triangle” and the Russell Group, which consists of the most important colleges in the nation.
In 2010, The Sunday Times selected KCL to be the “College of the Year 2010/11”, replacing Oxford University.

Overall, more than 26,500 students from almost 150 countries attend King’s College London. The departments for which it is best known include the humanities, law, the sciences, and social sciences. The Medical Sciences Department, however,  is the most prestigious. The King’s Dental Institute is the biggest in Europe, and the school of Nursing and Midwifery is the oldest in the world.

KCL consists of five campuses located across London. Strand Campus hosts most of the humanist departments, law, social sciences, and engineering. Guy’s Campus hosts the medical department. Waterloo Campus, located in the district of Lambeth, hosts the President’s office and the administration’s offices; and at Denmark Hill Campus is located the Institute of Psychiatry.

Being that King’s College London is a well-known and reputable college, the entry standards are high. The average UCAS tariff score is 453, and only 13% of prospective students are admitted to the program.

In order to apply to King’s College London there are five application stages to follow:

1. Attend an open day.

2. Apply via UCAS.

3. Write your personal statement.

4. If selected, you will be contacted to attend a Selection Event, which includes numeracy and literacy tests of 20 minutes each.

5. For a final step, you will attend multiple mini-interviews with the school's administration and faculty.

Tuition

Fees for U.K and EU countries are £9,000.
Oversees tuition fees for non-EU countries are £16,250 for classroom-based courses; £21,750 for lab-based courses; £19,000 for MPharm.
